Hello, I’m Kate Kim, the founder and pastry chef of Creamypond.
My journey in pastry is rooted in a deep respect for the craft. It began formally at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in New York, where I learned that baking is as much a science as it is an art.
That foundation led me to some of the most celebrated kitchens in Los Angeles. I honed my skills at Spago in Beverly Hills, learning the dedication required for high-end fine dining, and later refined my craft at Bottega Louie in Downtown LA. These high-pressure environments taught me the importance of perfectionism, the nuance of flavor balance, and the discipline required to create desserts that are visually flawless.
Why Creamypond? While I loved the energy of professional kitchens, I found myself missing the personal connection. I wanted to create cakes that weren’t just admired on a plate, but were part of a family’s most cherished memories.
For the past 10 years, I have been running my own studio, bringing that same level of fine-dining quality to custom cakes. At Creamypond, I combine my professional background with a personal touch. My design philosophy is rooted in your needs - thoughtfully transforming your ideas into beautiful, modern experiences.
